SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Our team of intrepid cyclists will ride from London to Glasgow over six days in August 2023, to raise awareness and funds for education projects with Think Malawi. We will arrive in Glasgow in the middle of 'the biggest cycling event ever' - the first ever multi-discipline World Cycling Championships.
hOW BUSINESSES CAN GET INVOLVED WITH OUR lONDON TO GLASGOW CYCLE RIDE
Pedal with a Purpose is an opportunity for brands to get noticed and be associated with cycling, at a time when there will be huge amounts of attention around the championships and cycling in general.
The story so far
Pedal with a Purpose has already been covered in over 200 publications, including The Independent, The Evening Standard and The Daily Mail. We plan to build on this in the build-up to the ride and during the ride itself, meaning potential exposure for sponsors.
We’ve received support from Tour de France pro cyclist Fred Wright, who sent us this message:
“I wish the riders the best for their epic adventure across Britain. It’s a great chance for the cycling community to support Think Malawi’s vital education projects while taking on a big cycling challenge. Finishing the ride in Glasgow while the World Championships are going on will be a real buzz. Fingers crossed I’ll be racing there myself!”

Projects which Think Malawi supports include:
-
Girls education: mothers receive training and access to equipment to make reusable sanitary pads. This help prevent girls from missing up to 5 days of school each month when they have their periods.
-
We support literacy projects too, including through literacy hubs, community libraries and after school clubs.
-
We have also enabled a remote learning project, enabling Malawian students to receive career and readiness to work skills from trainers around the world.
About Think Malawi
Think Malawi is a UK charity which works direct with grassroots NGOs in Malawi who identify barriers to education, and then with our support they work with local communities to tackle them.
We are a volunteer-led and run charity, which maximises the proportion of income which goes to the projects in Malawi which we support. In addition, the Pedal with a Purpose riders are covering their costs for the ride themselves. This means that once any direct costs for sponsorship materials are covered, over 90% of funds received by Think Malawi go direct to the projects we support.
