Announcing our plan for our future, and a new name!
Updated: Feb 22, 2019
Our trustees have been working for some time behind the scenes to develop a plan for our charity’s future. We are excited to announce that we are now able to support educational projects across Malawi, in addition to continuing to support Ganet’s Adventure School.
We work hand in hand with Malawians to improve access to quality education, allowing them to fulfil their ambitions, improve their quality of life and contribute to Malawi’s development.
We have developed a set of values shown on our homepage, and are now looking for projects which will enable us to fulfil them.
Revealing our new name
We recently changed the name of our UK charity from Ganet's Adventure School Fund to Think Malawi, which we feel best expresses our new wider aims. We believe this short name will be memorable and prompt people to action, and will accompany it with an explanatory line about how we are building a brighter future through education. Our UK Registered Charity number has not changed: 1141352.
We are currently developing our new logo, and would value your thoughts, and will incorporate your feedback into the development process.

How we’ll achieve our mission
We intend to use the skills, experience and network we’ve developed working with Ganet’s Adventure School to benefit primary and secondary school age learners. We will do this through committing to raise up to £5,000 for chosen education project(s) in Malawi.
We will partner with organisations which have a base in Malawi, and who have a proven track record of running successful education projects. We are currently in contact with various organisations, and look forward to being able to share more news on this soon. We intend to run fundraising appeals for chosen projects, as well as for our ongoing work with Ganet’s Adventure School.
Working hand in hand with Malawians
None of this would have been possible without the partnership we’ve developed with Ganet’s Adventure School in Malawi, and especially with its founder and school president Gertrude Banda. The trustees UK have worked with the school in different ways since 2005, and have enabled it to grow from being a nursery school run in borrowed rooms in people’s homes to an award-winning, high achieving full primary school.
Along the way we’ve worked with Gertrude to deal with floods, water shortages, and an eviction from a previous school site, so we believe we’re ready to deal with whatever comes next in our future projects. Gertrude supports our future plans, and we look forward to continuing to work with her and Ganet’s Adventure School, which embodies so many of our aims and values.
