Double your donation and enable more girls to achieve their ambitions!

Mothers who have been trained to make reusable sanitary pads

We have exciting news - a very generous donor is going to match all pledges made on our Her Education Matters Crowdfunder page from 17 May to 3 July, up to a maximum of £1,000.

This donor will also double donations made to our trustee Asif’s triathlon sponsorship page on Virgin Money Giving from 17 May to 26 July, up to a maximum of £500.

UK taxpayers can Gift Aid donations on both pages, meaning that 25% of their donation will be added to the amount going to this important cause.

Thanks to our generous crowdfunding page supporters and a grant from Think Malawi’s reserves, we have already raised over £2,300 of our £5,000 target for the whole project.

Faced with embarrassing leaks and no access to washing facilities at school when they have their periods, many girls in Malawi feel there is no choice but to miss up to 5 days of school a month.

If we reach our target, it will pay for equipment and for mothers to be trained to make reusable pads for around 900 girls from 6 schools in Malawi, plus the girls will have access to specially built changing facilities at school.

And this is just in the first year! After that the project aims to be self-sustaining – the mothers will be able to train others.

Please pledge to help us to reach and even beat this target. The more we raise, the more girls you will enable to achieve their ambitions.

Our support for educational projects, which help children in Malawi to fulfill their potential, is made possible by our regular donors. Please consider becoming a regular donor yourself, and join our community.
